Ateeqah’s Journey Through Pain, Parenthood and Healing
Hi, I’m Ateeqah Mazlan—singer, actress, teacher, and mother of two. While motherhood has been a profound blessing, the journey hasn’t been without its challenges. After my second child, I found myself grappling with familiar issues: persistent lower back pain, a noticeable abdominal bulge, and a sense of disconnect from my own body.
I kept pushing through, telling myself the pain was normal—that this was just part of motherhood. But deep down, I missed feeling comfortable in my own skin. I wanted to be able to move freely, lift my children without wincing, laugh without bracing for discomfort, and recognise the woman I saw in the mirror again. It wasn’t just about looking different—it was about feeling like I had lost a part of myself.
The Struggles of Postpartum Recovery
Six months postpartum, I was still dealing with a 4.0 cm Diastasis Recti, chronic back discomfort, and a weakened core. Simple tasks became daunting, and I yearned for the strength and vitality I once had. The emotional toll was significant, and I knew I needed to take action—not just for myself, but for my family.
Discovering Orchard Clinic
I turned to Orchard Clinic with a clear goal: to regain my core strength and close the gap caused by Diastasis Recti. From the very first session, I experienced 20,000 intense abdominal contractions that awakened muscles I hadn’t felt in years. This experience ignited a commitment in me to support my recovery through lifestyle changes, including mindful eating and daily walks.
Embracing a New Chapter
Surprisingly, the tailored procedures curbed my appetite, especially for snacks, making it easier to adopt healthier habits. Over time, I noticed significant changes: my abdominal bulge reduced, I lost 7 kg, and, most importantly, the chronic back pain that once dictated my days began to fade. Through Orchard Clinic’s community events, I found support and camaraderie, reinforcing my journey toward wellness.
A Message to Fellow Mothers
As someone passionate about wellness, it saddens me to see mothers compromise their health. If you’re navigating postpartum challenges, know that you’re not alone. Taking that first step toward recovery can be transformative. I did, and it changed my life.
