Diastasis Recti Abdominis (DRA)

Diastasis Recti Abdominis (DRA)

80% of mothers suffer from a divarication of the rectus abdominis muscle, or commonly known as the ‘Mummy Tummy’.

DRA is often accompanied with saggy skin and an inability to lose the mummy tummy despite weight loss.

Left untreated, DRA could lead to pelvic floor dysfunction, lower back pain and a hernia.

Pelvic Floor & Incontinence

Pelvic Floor & Incontinence

Females are twice as likely to suffer from pelvic floor conditions and Incontinence due to factors such as pregnancy, childbirth and menopause.

Signs of pelvic floor dysfunction can include loss of bladder control, feeling a weakness of the bladder, and/or involuntary urinary leakage.

Pelvic floor dysfunction could lead to lifestyle issues, reliance on diapers and pelvic organ prolapse.

Vulva & Vaginal Laxity (VRS)

Vulva & Vaginal Laxity (VRS)

As women age, relaxing of the vaginal wall can lead to Vulva & Vaginal Laxity or vaginal relaxation syndrome (VRS).

This is often aggravated by childbirth, especially multiple pregnancies and deliveries, and hormonal changes that cause vaginal atrophy.

Tightening of the vulva and vagina canal can improve the optimal structure of the vaginal canal, strengthen tissue and improve intimate health.

Am I suitable for assessment?

Assessment can be done on any female. If you have recently given birth, we would advise waiting at least 2 months after childbirth before coming for an assessment.

If you have given birth for a number of years, assessment can still be done.

Can I do the assessment when I am breastfeeding / menstruating / pregnant?

Assessment can be done while breastfeeding. But not during pregnancy.

We would recommend doing an assessment before/after your menstrual cycle. If you are menstruating and would like to do an assessment, you may proceed with the Diastasis Recti assessment first.

Who will be doing the assessment for me?

Assessment will be done by a female consultant, specialised in identifying postpartum conditions, especially Diastasis Recti and pelvic floor issues.

How much is the initial assessment?

The initial assessment will be $150 before GST, which includes the full 3-point check for Diastasis Recti, Incontinence/Pelvic Floor issues and Vaginal Laxity.

Do I need to prepare for the assessment?

Not really, we would however advise that you come in comfortable clothing for ease of the assessment.

Can I start treatment on the same day?

Treatment may or may not be possible, depending on the severity of the condition and if there are any contraindications. This will be advised after the initial assessment.
